Google May 2022 Broad Core Update

Google is constantly updating its algorithms to improve search results. There is no specific frequency of algorithms being rolled out for a matter of fact that people working on algorithm updates themselves do not know when they will be able to roll out an update.

May 2022 Broad Core Update Rolled Out

Google's May 2022 Broad Core Algorithm Update rolled out on 25th May 2022. Like the regular Core updates, this algorithm update tends to improve the search results for each query the user searches for. Google has cleared it many times that there is nothing to be fixed on the websites whenever a core update is rolled out. Here is the announcement by Google on Twitter:

Impact of this Broad Core Update on Websites

Some webmasters have reported a decline in rankings and some have reported a steep incline. So the impact had not been the same for everyone.

People who have stuffed keywords in the content and have used low-quality content have observed a decline in their rankings. People who ranked even with spammy content before have been brought down by Google now.

Only websites with great content and nice internal linking are currently ranking on top search results.

Hopefully, Google will keep improving the results in the favor of searchers irrespective of the website authority. Websites with great authority but low-quality content have dropped in rankings.

What to do if a website is Hurt by this update?

As Google has mentioned in its documentation, you don't need to panic or take any action instantly if your website rankings have been impacted.

The same is my opinion. I suggest not to change anything on the website for at least a couple of weeks. It is important to analyze what exactly has caused the impact. The only thing you need to focus on is, fixing the content and on-page of your website.

If your website got hurt with this update, most likely you have spammy, gibberish content or the content does not serve the intent of any user query.
